New Year’s Eve – A fantastic day

New Year’s Eve … The day before the beginning of the coming year. Hopes, laughter, joy, good food, some vomiting, promises given (some kept, but most ignored or forgotten), stars and fireworks, headaches and migraine – perhaps even missing a few limbs, lifelong memories (some lost in inexplicable blackouts due to “bad food”), spending time with friends and relatives or waking up tomorrow next to a total stranger, beautiful snowy landscape or blistering cold slush inside your newly bought high-heeled shoes which you just had to wear to the party and had to walk home in, since someone “borrowed” your jacket, wallet and mobile phone, traditions, the Countess and the Servant (probably the best “procedure of every year”), a midnight movie one can fall asleep to, waking up at 3:47 by people screaming outside your window about utter nonsense – not even listening to themselves, let alone to the recipient of their BS who of course has the ultimate response, which doesn’t make sense to either of them, the reason for their argument forgotten by morning and ignored for the rest of the year, or staying awake the whole night “running around with your friends”, having arguments with them in the street about things you’re not entirely sure you remember to be your own opinions or why you’re even talking about it, but you at least know that the other person is wrong!

In the end one wakes up (sometime before the 2:nd January) and realises that it’s a holiday, no work, no school. Even if it happens to be the first day of the rest of your life, you really don’t have to do anything just today (you may have to clean up the mess you made around or on you or communicate to your family where you are, but basically it’s a non-eventful day). Else, you could start this new year in a way that sets the mark of a fresh beginning, making sure it will constantly improve and make you proud of yourself next New Year’s Eve, when you stop to think back on what you accomplished in 2010.

It’s your choice. You always have a choice in everything you do. You decide. Actually, you could start today.

I’m not the only one with this problem and nobody have found a working solution for Windows 7 yet. I now request the collective wisdom of the blogworld to come up with a workaround for this.

This error is hindering the start of any console-related programs . Not even cmd.exe will run!

In my case I am trying to run gpg.exe of the GnuPG package for my Enigmail install in Mozilla Thunderbird. I have found two articles that I think are relevant, but I don’t feel confident enough to edit the registry in the way one of the “solutions” suggest and the other is a hotfix that isn’t made for Windows 7.

All solutions suggested by Microsoft themselves for this issue on other OSs mention this file, Winsrv.dll, as the culprit. This reference can also be found in the kb/824422-article above, since that is listed in that particular registry value.

I will not, ever, use System Restore to fix anything on my computer, so that is never a valid solution. I should be able to fix anything on a current system, with replacing files or editing system settings. There’s no telling what changes has been made since last restore point was saved and will be lost forever if I “go back”. So, please, don’t suggest using system restore. A full reinstall is a much safer way to go, but I’d rather not do that, again (I just installed Win7 to start using during the Christmas holidays).

My kids’ mother didn’t allow me to vaccinate my little ones, so now I don’t really have much of a choice regarding my own vaccination. I simply have to do it, because if any of them get sick I will have to stay home and take care of them. Th…ere is no way that will be possible, if I too am living in the bathroom, with either my head or my a.. stuck down the toilet. With the four of us in there it’d be crowded.

Same thing goes for the event that I should become ill first. Who would take care of my kids? They’d most certainly catch it, since they’d have to stay at home with me. If their mother hadn’t gone all Ego on us, she could’ve had them, if need be, but moving 330 kms away from Malmö effectively took care of that possibility.

I don’t like the reports about this vaccin not being tested as much as one could want, or that it contains materials long-since banned in Swedish medicinal society. Quicksilver and Squalen … wtf! Why include unnecessary preservatories in a medicine that needs to be mass-consumed quickly? It doesn’t scare me though. It just makes me angry that I can’t fully trust a medicine that could end up saving my life or the life of my children or any other of my relations.

At the same time, I think it’s hilarious to follow the anxious debate between people, on both sides, who happily on a regular basis consume large amounts of alcohol, smoke light menthol cigarettes (lol!) and pop alvedon and ipren like its candy. So, shit you KNOW kills people every day or long-term effects of pointless over-medicating isn’t to be included in your considerations?
